What characterizes small-module components?

Small-module components are used wherever compact designs, high precision and finely coordinated motion sequences are essential. Typical examples can be found in humanoid robotics, general robotics, harmonic reducers and other demanding drive components. These geometries are characterized by small dimensions, delicate structures, sometimes very thin material thicknesses and high-precision functional surfaces that must be precisely aligned with one another. Accordingly, the requirements for dimensional accuracy and machining precision are particularly high.

Typical machining requirements

The machining of small-module components requires particularly precise and stable processes, as even the smallest deviations can affect the function of the entire system. Depending on the workpiece, production includes delicate gears, turning, drilling and milling operations as well as the high-precision machining of fine contours and function-critical areas. PITTLER offers flexible machine concepts for these applications, enabling even complex small-module geometries to be manufactured efficiently and with high process reliability in just a few setups. This creates the basis for consistently high component quality and reliable reproducibility in production.
