Model variants

PV 630 The flexible multi-technology concept for medium-sized components

The PV 630 is designed for the complete machining of medium batch sizes and impresses with high flexibility across a wide range of manufacturing processes. With a turning diameter of up to Ø 630 mm, workpiece lengths of up to 500 mm and a Y-axis travel of +250 / -150 mm, it is ideally suited for applications where turning, grinding, milling, drilling and measuring need to be combined cost-effectively in a single machine. This makes it the right solution for users looking for a versatile machining center for precise and productive manufacturing processes.

PV 1250 The powerful universal machine for large workpieces and high process variety

The PV 1250 significantly expands the application range of the PV series and is designed for larger workpieces with demanding machining requirements. With a turning diameter of up to Ø 1,250 mm, workpiece lengths of up to 500 mm or optionally 1,000 mm, and a Y-axis travel of ±300 mm, it provides the ideal platform for complex machining tasks. Thanks to its generous machining area, powerful drives and the option to integrate a wide variety of tool carriers, this machine offers substantial power reserves and a high degree of flexibility. It is particularly suitable for large components that need to be machined flexibly, precisely and cost-effectively.

PV 1600 The powerful variant for the heaviest components and maximum machining performance

Within the series, the PV 1600 is designed for large and heavy workpieces where stability, torque and machining performance are key priorities. With a turning diameter of up to Ø 1,600 mm, workpiece lengths of up to 500 mm or optionally 1,000 mm, and a maximum workpiece weight of 5,000 kg, it offers extensive scope for the precise complete machining of demanding components. Its high drive power, torque of up to 32,800 Nm and modular design with a wide range of tool and machine configurations make it the ideal solution for applications where large workpieces need to be machined with high process reliability, power and cost-effectiveness.

Wheel hub with additional drilling and milling operations
PV Series Turning, drilling and milling precisely combined

A manufacturer of chassis components produces a wheel hub that carries the wheel in the finished vehicle, secures the bearing function and provides the connection to the brake disc as well as other chassis components. In addition to classic turning operations on diameters, contact surfaces and centering seats, the wheel hub also requires hole patterns, face surfaces and further functional features.

This makes the component more demanding, as all machining operations must be precisely aligned with one another to ensure that the wheel hub runs smoothly and can be mounted safely later on.

For this application, it is essential not only to machine individual surfaces precisely, but to align the entire machining sequence with the functional references of the component. The PV series is particularly well suited to this, as it combines different manufacturing processes in one continuous process. Turning, drilling, milling and measuring operations can be closely coordinated without repeatedly transferring the component to a different machining environment.

The result is a wheel hub in which functionally relevant surfaces, bores and reference features are precisely aligned with one another. For the customer, this means greater machining reliability for complex wheel hubs, fewer interfaces in the manufacturing process and a cost-effective solution for components where not only cycle time matters, but above all the quality of the entire component geometry.
