COMPONENT RECOGNITION – ORDERLY SPATIAL ARRANGEMENT Vision technology – 3D, cartesian

The 3D-based technology is best suited to the recognition of objects that are at different heights and mostly layered. Containers of 400 x 600 mm, 600 x 800 mm and up to 1,000 x 1,200 mm can be used. Be it wire baskets, plastic boxes with or without trays, pallets with stacking frames or mesh boxes: We have the right solution for every type of container.

The challenge:
Grab components from different levels from a container, from a relatively orderly position and with slight tilting.

A technology that records a cloud of dots by means of a sensor system is used to provide the necessary positional information of the components. All room dimensions are taken into account through complete 3D mapping.

The sensor system can be fixed or mounted on the robot gripper, depending on the requirements of the application. This enables the configuration of reliable and stable component recognition applications to guarantee maximum productivity in manufacture or assembly.

In most cases, the clouds of dots are evaluated on a separate PC.

The design process with the gripper can be optimally attuned to the precision required by the application and maximum robot application flexibility.

Tried-and-tested sensors from leading 3D camera technology manufacturers, which are constantly being further developed, are used.

The systems are used in a wide variety of applications – from customized special solutions to our proven modules of the FX series.
